0832.4 Alexander McKenzie and the landscape debates in the 1870s
Wednesday 29 October 6.30pm
The 1870s were a period of controversy and conflict in garden design, led by some of the leading names in British garden history, notably Alexander McKenzie. What was its legacy? Librarian and Archivist of the Royal Horticultural Society, our speaker, Brent Elliott is the author of Victorian Gardens (1986).
Lectures usually last about an hour and take place at the Art Workers’ Guild, 6 Queen Square, London WC1 at 6.30pm. Doors open at 6pm. Wine will be available before the lectures (not included in ticket prices). The venue is conveniently placed for Holborn and Russell Square Tube stations and numerous bus services. Tickets £10 on the door, or much cheaper if you book.
