0832.1 Lecture: Ritualism Rampant

In 1874 Disraeli's Government legislated against innovations in Anglican ritual observance, prompting a crisis in the Anglo-Catholic movement that resulted in several priests going to prison. What was the impact of ritualism on architecture? Our speaker, Michael Hall is completing a book on the decade's leading ecclesiastical architectural practice, Bodley & Garner.
Lectures usually last about an hour and take place at the Art Workers’ Guild, 6 Queen Square, London WC1 at 6.30pm. Doors open at 6pm. Wine will be available before the lectures (not included in ticket prices). The venue is conveniently placed for Holborn and Russell Square Tube stations and numerous bus services. Tickets £10 on the door, or much cheaper if you book.
